When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt; Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back, And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land: And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh: And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God: And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her. And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent. And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians. And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them. And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God. And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening. And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even? And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to inquire of God: When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws. And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone. Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee. If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace. So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves. And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land. Exodus:18
Exodus Chapter 18 introduces a rather famous management concept: pyramidal organization. The idea came from a non-Jew Midianite, Jethro, after he was made fully aware of God’s tremendous salvation of the Jews expiring under the wicked Pharaoh. Jethro was Moses father-in-law who had just re-united his son-in-law with his family. Jethro also offered sacrifices to God after hearing about His defeat of the Pharaoh. A moment was picture of oneness and family: Moses and brother Aaron were present. Moses and wife Zipporah with their two children and her father Jethro were there. Spiritually, Jethro was a Priest of the Midianites. Moses and Aaron were de facto Priests of God. They dined in the presence of God with His beloved, delivered people Israel. Such company and occasion defines a Spiritual moment.
Moses was going to lead the People of God for 40 years in the desert. He needed a management form that would work well, if not best, to carry on the Deliverance arranged by Almighty God. Jethro felt Moses would wear himself out using his practice of on-to-one counsel. Hierarchy was arranged were Moses would have a few direct reports involving worthiest of men. Each of these would have similar Span of Control at the next lower level. This one-to-many report principle would allow the rather large body of Deliverance Jews to be closely, personally governed under God’s overarching umbrella of care.
Pyramid organization structures are used all around the world today. It is the predominant form for governing large masses of people. With unmatched utility, it can be considered a Perfect Form. If our God of infinite mind instructed every mind like He did Moses,’ He could collapse the Pyramid into a one-level, first-line management model. The Priestly Pyramid, however, allows finite human minds, particularly enlightened by God, to collectively guide the people in finer and finer detail. Pyramid management also has Interface Power. Managers at one level in the Pyramid Hierarchy need only interface with managers at the adjacent layer, not all other layers. With specialization, one manager at any given level need only deal with his direct reports, his direct subordinates at the level. The mental (administrative) efficiency of this design is unsurpassed in a world of finite minds.
So grand is the Pyramid Hierarchy, God chose it to represent the Body of Christ in our world. It is not happenstance that Egypt built many pyramids on the occasion of arrival by God’s Chosen People, Israel. It pre-figured God’s desire to bring all of Africa into the Body of Christ, His family, beginning with Egypt. The form would elevate God and His People to upper places in that Pyramid Hierarchy, yet He had the Egyptians unknowingly design and build these rare structures. When the Pharaohs resisted God and His People, Egyptian Pyramids became a Pharaoh tombstone, not the living Corporation of Christ it could have been.

Over in Pan America, the Mayans built tremendous Pyramids for offering human sacrifices to an unknown god. The Conquistadors of Spain came bearing gospel information, but were so horrified at the barbary of human sacrifice, the did not perceive their unique opportunity to show the Mayans how to become an abiding, living sacrifice to God.

A paper Pyramid composes the Great Seal of the United States. It associates the Body of Christ with governance established by the Founding Fathers (signers of the Declaration of independence 1776). The Eye of God hovers atop the Pyramid, signaling divine leadership (Psalm:32.8). This reminder appears on every One-Dollar Bill, so revealing the sure origin of wealth, abundance, blessing, etc.

Analytical Hierarchy Decision Making (1970s): Dr. Thomas Saaty, University of Pittsburgh
As Pitt Professor, Dr. Saaty developed a pyramidal analytical hierarchy process (AHP) for decision making that became his life’s work. The robust and rigorous AHP became a template for analyzing societal problems of all types, especially when deployed as software on a high-speed computer platform. Dr. Saaty’s consulting support for AHP carried him around the world and crowned him as a global problem solver. A small graphical example of AHP adapted to choosing a leader appears below:

The Pyramid Strategic Planning and Control System was developed during the 1990s by Dr. William C. Patterson as he was concluding doctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business. It’s pyramidal schema is unfolded as The Strategic Hierarchy in his book, Strategic Management of Business Organizations (1994) and in Executive Software: Pyramid Strategic Planning and Control System, reintroduced in 2018 under the ministry of Global Environmental Service.
Pyramid Software contributes diversely to the modern field of General Management and Business Policy. Computer deployment makes it a paperless, real-time planning and control instrumentality spanning entire organizations. Strategy updating is instantaneous, improving response time especially needful in the fast-paced, dynamic, and complex environment of high-technology firms. Hierarchy formation logic is highly focused, task efficient, resource efficient, and suited to organizational competencies and environmental context. Inter-layer planning and control involves a focal cluster of managers and specialties defining the interface of a particular hierarchy level, rather than episodically massing all managers at all levels every time a plan becomes infected with obsolescence. Unique to the latest PYRAMID Software Package is infusion of Spiritual resources, responsive to Body of Christ Administration of Grace. God’s people were early gifted with pyramidal management understanding, as mentioned earlier. Software PYRAMID re-Spiritualizes modern long-range management in the interest of inspiration, stability, permanence in God’s widening Corporation of Christ.
The figure below samples Strategic Hierarchy construction with hexagons depicting Divine Trinity interfacing at every level, that is, Superior and Subordinate Managers of Trinity Character reason together in Christ to build the PYRAMID as a work of God. Accordingly, this Corporation has utility for just about any of modern man’s endeavors: business, government, church, social service organizations, etc. On behalf of Global Environmental Service, I hope PYRAMID will help to structure the abiding Global Kingdom of God in peace and wisdom.

In a filled Earth at the end of the Church Age, we find ourselves enveloped in an Age of Knowledge and Information. We have learned in the huge Earth Classroom of God how to inhabit the Creator’s Spinning House. Man has tried to link nations and minds with super computers, speed-of-light telecommunications, and marvelous information systems in an effort to grandly manage societal organizations that have grown from family size to millions. Wars, crime, pestilence, shortages, and climate distress convey the message that Super Minds and Super Men are not getting things done very well. With Spiritual Reflection, we might reconsider mind dimensionality. We have marvelous tools, but we remain human being with two hands, two feet, and a finite mind that belongs to God more than external data bases and artificial intelligence. Our Heavenly Father’s design for living counsels limiting our mindset.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew:6.25-34.
Missing from today’s education and knowledge society is the matchless privilege of prayer. Rather than carry all the information burden in one human brain or wireless cyber linkage unmoderated by God, His Children are invited to ask, seek, and find from Him in prayer.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew:7.7-11
The infinite mind of God holds all wisdom and knowledge for us, and He compassionately dispenses what we need when we need it upon prayer request (petitioning). He matches knowing with our perfect human hands-and-feet or family capability. Look for the easy, right-size family hierarchy to become the center-piece pyramid of life, planning, and decision-making as we enter promised days of Heaven on Earth, and embrace His Rest (Hebrews:4.1-11).
