Millennial Easter

Easter is a most sacred holiday. It clearly teaches that death is only temporary for God's children, a kind of sleep (1 Thessalonians:4.13). Just as Jesus arose on Sunday as the first fruit of resurrection, so we have hope of resurrection in Him. Our Lord will be returning, and those who have fallen asleep in Jesus will be coming back with Him (1 Thessalonians:4.14).
Easter Hope has been faithfully celebrated in Christians nations for over 2,000 years. Our Father is accumulating quite a large returning heavenly host. But it will be more than a New Testament celebration when Jesus comes again. God's Chosen Ones of Old Testament times will be in the grand reunion assembly. There are so many among the Holy Men of Old I look forward to meeting in person. Adam and Eve will be there. So will Moses and Aaron, Abraham and Sarah, Elijah, King David and his Bathsheba, and dear Counselor Nathan. Think of shaking hands with Jacob and each of his twelve sons, the Tribal Patriarchs of Israel.
The Son of God will be in the special company of His beloved Disciples, the New Testament Twelve. His dear Marys also will decorate the return. The list of Signature Believers becomes so great. We are indebted to so many Fathers of the Faith down through the years who have preserved the Kingdom way and truth and life for us. Because of them, we can enter the City Gate of our God even today. This Easter is a wonderful moment to join that heavenly family line, if you have not yet been adopted into it.
No one knows the exact Great Day of our Lord's return. But it does seem due . . . needfully due. Many signs were given by God in the Holy Scripture that have kept generation after generation expectantly watching and waiting. I might call attention to just a few lesser-known indicators of God's Big Event, peculiar to these pregnant times, to heighten your anticipation and readiness.
The Home is Ready - The world has been circled, tamed, largely filled, and considerably civilized. We have climbed the highest mountain and plumbed the deepest oceans. The grand home of Earth is becoming quite familiar, well-furnished, and poised to receive the King of Peace. We are obligated to a peaceful reception, so let's be about spreading a comforting global blanket of peace and good will to appropriately welcome the Son and Lamb of God.
The Air is Ready - Angels at Jesus ascension said he would return in like manner, from the air above (Acts:1.11). The elusive miracle of flight has become a global reality in our time, setting an inspirational milestone with a rather key Spiritual reference. Accordingly, let's rid ourselves of flight's early heraldry of war planes and rocket bombs and unsafe aircraft. Let's reform aviation and assemble a divine fleet for dispatching mercy and grace to the world that Sons of God can safely and effectively use. There is no quicker help across mountains, deserts, and oceans in times of trouble (Psalm:46.1). Our Lord and His Saints will not return to engage these abiding purposes, only to die again (Hebrews:9.27-28)
The Time is Right - Jesus rose from death in the early hours of His third day in the grave, shortly after two whole days had elapsed. To the Lord, a day is like a thousand years. (2 Peter:3.8). To me, this hints at the Third Millennium being a time ripe for Jesus' return. We are in the early hours of the Third Millennial Day right now. Fully two-thousand years, or two of God's years, have already elapsed. So live with greater expectation. Be more fully prepared. Groom for that essential likeness to Him (1 John:3.1-2)
